SCYCA WEEKEND ROUND UP – EMPHATIC HIGH WITH TWO WINS

A busy weekend for SCYCA boys and girls under clear skies and warm temperatures in Orange County, California.


U-15 THREE MATCH SERIES (SATURDAY)


Andrew scored a valiant century as SCYCA pulled off a consolation 64 run win over SDCCYA to go down 1-2 in 40 over three match series concluded on June 9th, 2018 at beautiful Centennial Regional Park. Trishul was unlucky to get runout having scored 49 runs ending 101 runs partnership with Andrew.


SDCCYA started follow on well with 86 runs on the board for 5 wickets at 15th over. At the end SDCCYA were 64 runs short, losing 9 wickets against excellent bowling spells by Andrew and Harika who shared 7 wickets amongst them. Aditya played a brave innings scoring 66 runs, but did not get enough help from team mates to take SDCCYA home.

U-13 FRIENDLY MATCH (SUNDAY)


SCYCA travelled on June 10th, 2018 to Woodley Park for the fourth friendly match against new Woodley Tigers, winning the first, nail-biting tie in the second, and losing the third.  SCYCA openers started the inning sensibly, followed by all the team mates posting a very challenging 160 / 2 wicket at the end of allocated 30 overs. (Pranv 31 runs in 23 balls, Tharuk 21 runs in 20 balls, Harika 13 runs in 14 balls)


Woodly Tigers managed to score 113 runs at the end of the innings facing SCYCA accurate bowling.


SCYCA PRACTICE (SUNDAY JUNE 10th)


Normal Sunday practice was held at Youth Athletic Park in Mission Viejo conducted by SCYCA head coach Pri De Silva.
