From August 30 to September 1, elite and emerging cricketers competed in the Blazers Bay Area Open 2025 - Women's T20 Cricket Tournament, including SCYCA's Aradhanaa Rajasekaran. At the end of the tournament, Aradhanaa had emerged as the Top Overall Performer in the Emerging category.
Aradhanaa represented Southern California at the Blazers Bay Area Open, playing for the SoCal Arisers team. The Arisers faced off against the Blazers Bright Embers over 5 matches. Aradhanaa scored 137 runs across those matches - the highest total. She also bowled in every match (18 overs) and maintained a 5.06 average economy, while claiming 4 wickets and 2 maiden overs along the way. Her all-around performance put her at the top of the scoreboard and showed that her hard work training at the Southern California Youth Cricket Academy is yielding great results.
Aradhanaa opened her tournament with a strong batting performance of 17 off 11 against the Embers squad. However, she really took off in her second match: she scored 57 runs off 59 balls, not out, and then went on to take 2 wickets while bowling. Although the Embers claimed the victory, Aradhanaa put up a fantastic overall match.
SoCal Strikers clinched the victory in their third match thanks in part to Aradhanaa's efforts on the pitch. Strikers bowled first, and Aradhanaa took 1 wicket, and kept her opponents to just 10 runs across 5 overs. She went on to bat the highest score of the match, with a 31 off 45 (not out) showing.
In the Strikers' fourth face-off against the Embers, Aradhanaa once again demonstrated that she's batting long and efficiently. She scored 31 off 22, and also added a wicket to her bowling stats in this match.
All of this tallied up to a stellar individual performance. The U11 player maintained a 96.48 score rate average, hit sixteen 4s and one six, and had two Not Outs. With her tournament high score of 57 and a half-century to her name, the future looks bright for youth cricketer Aradhanaa Rajasekaran.
As more pathways open for girl's and women's cricket in the United States, SCYCA is dedicated to empowering its players to compete at their highest level. We encourage any interested youth girl cricketers to start their cricket journeys at SCYCA en route to the 2028 Olympics and beyond.
