SCYCA Head Coach Pri De Silva Becomes New Owner of Dambulla Sixes in the Lanka Premier League

In an exciting development for SCYCA, the long-term head coach of Southern California Youth Cricket Academy (SCYCA), Pri De Silva, has become the new owner of the Dambulla Sixes, a prominent team in the Lanka Premier League (LPL). The Dambulla Sixes are known for their competitive spirit and success in Sri Lanka’s premier T20 league, making this a significant move in the cricketing world.
Pri De Silva, a former first-class cricketer who represented Sri Lanka U19 in 1983, brings a wealth of experience and passion to his new role. Currently, he also plays for the USA Masters Over 60 team, demonstrating his continued dedication to the sport. Under his guidance, SCYCA has flourished since 2014, achieving numerous tournament victories and fostering the development of young players.
Commenting on his new venture, Coach Pri said, “I have seen LPL grow as a league during last four years, which is commendable for a small country like Sri Lanka. I am excited to be a part of this growth and able to contribute to the development of cricket in our country.”
The upcoming fifth edition of the Lanka Premier League is set to commence on July 1 and will take place across three cities: Kandy, Dambulla, and Colombo. As the new owner of the Dambulla Sixes, Coach Pri is poised to bring his expertise and leadership to the team, aiming to steer them to new heights in the competition.
