SCYCA Gains Recognition from Congress at Chak De SoCal Event Organized by Saahas and Los Angeles Department of Mental Health
May 20, 2024
For the second consecutive year, SCYCA proudly participated in the Chak De SoCal event, organized by Saahas in collaboration with the Los Angeles Department of Mental Health. Held on May 18, 2024, at Tetzlaff Middle School, the event aimed to raise awareness about the vital connection between physical and emotional well-being through the spirited game of cricket.
The Chak De SoCal event is more than just a celebration of sports and culture; it is a testament to our shared humanity. It fosters a culture of inclusivity and acceptance, encouraging open conversations about mental health and emotional well-being. SCYCA’s participation underscores its commitment to promoting mental health awareness and fostering community spirit through engaging and meaningful activities.
As we reflect on this successful event, we look forward to continuing our collaboration with Saahas and the Los Angeles Department of Mental Health, and to participating in future initiatives that promote health, happiness, and unity within our community.
SCYCA Coaches and Staff enjoyed the event and organized a cricket session for the youth who were eagerly waiting. We received lots of positive feedback, and we appreciate the volunteers as well as Artesia’s mayor Monica Manalo for their efforts towards making Chak de SoCal a success. It was a great reminder of yet another benefit of the sport of cricket — stress relief, relaxation, and fulfillment.
