SCYCA U11 and U13 Teams Tour the Bay Area for the 2023 California Cricket Festival

SCYCA U-11 and U-13 teams recently competed in the 2023 California Cricket Festival (CCF) from June 16 to 19, hosted by the California Cricket Academy (CCA). Our hard-working cricketers played impressively, showed strong character, and gained tremendous experience during this series.

 

U11 CATEGORY

The SCYCA U-11 Cubs were victorious in their scheduled games against the CCA Kings, the Seattle Thunder, and the CCA Tornados. The SCYCA Cubs faced defeat in the Finals against the CCA Masters and won the Runners-up trophy.

 

6/16/2023 – CCA Kings vs SCYCA Cubs

The Player of the Match was Aarav Arora for scoring 65 runs off 60 balls. Yuvan

Sudhakar scored 53 runs off 57 balls while Akshay Nidichenametla grabbed 2 wickets.

6/17/2023 – SCYCA Cubs vs Seattle Thunder

The Player of the Match was Aryan Arora for scoring 44 runs off 27 balls and bagging one wicket. Rayan Tummuru scored 44 runs off 47 balls while Aarav Arora and Ahan Sharma scored 21 and 24 runs, respectively.

6/18/2023 – SCYCA Cubs vs CCA Tornados

The Player of the Match was Aarav Arora with a remarkable 119 runs off 84 balls. Aryan Arora made 25 runs off 13 balls and stunned with the ball with 4 wickets and a hat-trick.

6/19/2023 – Notable efforts in the Final against CCA Masters include Aryan Arora’s 3-wicket haul for just 22 runs in 5 overs. Rishaan Agwekar also fought back with a wicket in his four overs.

U13 CATEGORY

The SCYCA U-13 team played the CCA Stars, the SDCCYA Bolts, the Cricmax Tigers, and the CCA Comets in their league. The SCYCA Cubs fought fiercely against their opponents and displayed incredible resilience throughout the tournament. Despite facing losses in other games, the SCYCA Cubs showed exceptional spirit and won against the CCA Comets. Our young players learned important and positive lessons and are ready to bounce back stronger and better to play the brilliant cricket that they are known for.

6/16/2023 – CCA Stars vs SCYCA 

Neel Mehta fought back against the Stars with a low economy rate of just 3.43 in the 7 overs he bowled. 

6/17/2023 –SCYCA vs SDCCYA Bolts

Both Neel and Rohit Krish Nattamai had extremely low economy rates in their combined 13 overs. Neel grabbed 2 wickets for 9 runs in his 7 overs, while Rohit took one wicket for 17 runs in his 6 overs.

6/18/2023 – Cricmax Tigers vs SCYCA

Neel, Rohit, and Anerva Ashok took a combined 4 wickets in the difficult game against Cricmax Tigers.

6/19/2023 – CCA Comets vs SCYCA

Neel, Rohit, and Shritan Reddy Yelal contributed to the victory with Neel taking 2 wickets and the other two getting one each. Anerva also scored a solid 19 runs.
