From November 24-27th, 2025, SCYCA's U12 and U14 squads competed against other youth cricket teams at WYCA's Annual Thanksgiving Cricket Tournament. Several SCYCA players also competed in the U17 and U19 age groups on mixed SoCal academy teams. It was a fantastic week of youth cricket matches at Woodley Park in Van Nuys, CA, with SCYCA's U14 team delivering yet another undefeated performance. Beyond taking the championship trophy, they also secured multiple individual awards.
Coach Cody’s effective game plan played a key role in guiding the SCYCA U14 team to the 2025 Thanksgiving Cricket Tournament championship title.
The team also benefited from valuable contributions from Meghav Tikekar (12-1-36-6), Aryan Arora (9.5-2-30-4), Akshay Nidichenametla (13-0-41-4), and Varish Deshpande (7-0-25-3) on the bowling side.
SCYCA's teamwork shone through during their batting innings, with notable partnerships between Ahan Sharma and Veeraj Johal, and great support from Vishruth Yadhava Krishnan.
It's been a fantastic year for the U14 youth cricket squad at SCYCA. Check out their undefeated performance at the recent Labor Day Tournament as well.
SCYCA players competing individually in the U17 category had standout performances. Playing for the SoCal Mavericks, Vinuk Ubayasiri claimed a half-century, scoring 71 off 59 (not out), and Kian Sahasrabudhe batted consistently well over 3 innings with 76 runs off 84 balls and 2 not outs.
In the U19 age group, Om Medandrao, playing for the LA Warriors, had good batting knocks and was one of the Top 5 Batters in the league. Adit Jain, playing for the Strykers, ranked among the Top 5 U19 Bowlers, thanks to his 6-wicket haul.
SCYCA's youngest squad, the U12 team, put up some mighty numbers too in their age group. Aditya Nidichenametla and Aradhanaa Rajasekaran Ranked #5 and #6 in Batting overall in the tournament, respectively.
